This is The Bad Kid's Hangout, a place to ramble rant and rave about whatever you want. This is also The Misfits section of Dissent, just what is The Misfits section about you may ask? No, it's not the band from Gem, and no it's not the guys that wrote "Braineaters", it's an area for the less intellectually adept to discuss important issues of today that affect us all - like punk rock, and porn. Hence, the underside of Dissent, the misfits, the Bad Kid's. *teebo ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: BIG TEEBO To: Little Niro Subject: Re: Today's muzak Date: Sun Nov 03 16:27:57 CST 1996 Message number: 2 Reply to message number: -1 LN> You know what the nasty thing is? Is there something you love so much that you haven't done in awhile and you want to get back into. Enter my shoes. Skiing. I race competitively with my school and a private team. Last year i ended the year with a bang and improved greatly. I wanted to ski so damn bad since the last day in march. I dreamed of skiing again all summer. Skiing is my life in the winter. Now about a month ago i started dryland training for both teams and have been buffing up or whatever for the season. Last friday we happened to be playing soccer and i got drilled in the shin. It made the funniest noise when i got nailed and it hurt like no other. I walked the bitchy stuborn leg off for about 5 min and continued to play but i knew something was pretty fucked up with my leg. Well it's gonna be a week this friday and it's still killin me. I had a coach tell me it might be a hairline fracture. Now this fucking thing could put me out for a very long time possibly the season cause hairlines take forever to heal. Do you have any fucking clue how pissed i am. I've never been so pumped to through two fiberglass boards on my feet and hurtle down hills in my life. Now i may not be able to for a very long time. This blows. I'm gonna get x-rays soon if this bullshit injury don't start feelin better by then. Why the fuck did i write this spiel? Trash ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: DAEDALUS RISING To: All Subject: Subversion Date: Thu Nov 28 18:40:28 CST 1996 Message number: 25 Reply to message number: unavailable I wrote this back several years ago, when I was one of "the bad kids" at school. Thought you might all get a kick out of it. Subversion It began one innocent day in the auditorium. It seemed that all of the years of slow conversion had finally worked. I knew this when the students began bowing dowm before Iverson and quoting from the little red book of chairman Mao's sayings. It seems I was immune to its affect because I had been alseep in the corner. But I knew I had to do something. It seemed I was the only one not affected by their brainwashing. As I rose from my seat, the room fell silent. Everyone stared at me, with extreme malice in their eyes. I walked towards the door, and the teachers blocked my path. I went towards the other door and they followed, like hounds for their prey. I ran out of the school and the mob trailed me, pausing only long enough for an inspirational speech by Iverson. Then, all of a sudden in front of me, a lone man was upon me with a gleaming sword. I drew my pocketknife. He feinted for my head, but aimed for my chest. I rolled on the ground and threw my knife at his face. Sticking from his forehead, the knife was covered in blood, and too gory to retrieve. But it had done its job, taking out the man. But it appears I was not fast enough, for they were upon me. The teachers ganged up upon me, but were not very well coordinated. I pulled out a couple of M-80s, lit them and threw them at the oncoming gang. Being ignorant of what they were, they ignored them. Stupid communist pigs. Boom!! They thought they were in Vietnam again and ran for cover. But I had forgotten about the students. Being much smarter than their teachers, they had not ran. I was surrounded. I fought, but to no avail. They knocked me unconscious, and I remembered no more. I awoke in a towering cathedral, bound on an altar of sacrifice surrounded by red-robed teachers. They were chanting marxist donctrine, attempting to sacrifice me to their Lenin statue. One of them lifted a jeweled dagger to my exposed neck. I jerked at the ropes, but they were too tight. The blade dropped closer. I kicked the priest, sending the blade flying. With luck, I caught the knife in my hand, and cut the rope, barely having time to rise before they were upon me. I was surrounded again. One of them stepped forward and spoke, "Fool, you know not what you do. leninist equality will be the norm. Convert now or you will be the first victim of the crusade." Of course, they were being foolish. I had no intention of worshiping a teacher. But I answered, "Why are you doing this?" He replied, "We are KGB agents,. All teachers are. Our primary mission is to teach the next generation of American youth our Utopian society. All will join us. Give up, it is futile. Even if you stop us, there are millions of us in America alone. We will prevail over your flawed individualistic ways. This is your last chance." I didn't bother answering him. I tackled him into another robed teacher, taking off towards the door. They followed, of course. But I knew what I was doing. If I exposed them to the rest of the country, there was a chance I could defeat their master plan. I was going to let the media take care of them. But how to do that was a mystery. But I had to keep running. Like deja-vu, another person appeared in front of me. But this man had a gun. It was no normal gun, though. It was a tazer. He fired. "Damn!!" he cried, "My battery's dead!" I didn't waste any time. I rushed him. He pulled out another battery, but I ignored him. I kept going, oblivious to my surroundings. He started loading the battery, but it was too late. I was on top of him. I tore the gun from his grip, and hit him over the head with it. The inferior communist fell to the ground. I ran on. It seemed like an eternity, but I was finally there. The police station. They came out and greeted me, expecting me for some time. Then they pulled their guns on me, and fired. Of course, Inver Grove cops can only hit people whose backs are turned, so they missed. Racist pigs. I loosed my tazer on them. They all fell stunned to the ground, retching out donuts and free coffee. I grabbed one of their sets of keys and took off in a cop car. I looked down, and on the floor was a communist doctrine book and a loaded Uzi. Oh well, I'd just have to kill a few commie cops with it. I sped out of the parking lot, with the other cops coming out of the station following me. They'd never catch me. After what seemed like an eternity, I was finally there. KARE-11 studios. I'd rather have went to Geraldo, but he was too far away. I ran to the door, but a security guard barred my entry. I fired the uzi, killing him instantly. I entered hesitantly, avoiding the splattered blood. There..In the corner..Paul Douglas!!! I was saved. "Mr. Douglas!" I yelled. He said, "No autographs, please." I said, "The communist threat is not over. The Schools are subverting our next generation of voters. You must do something!" He replied, "What, and ruin my hairdo? I just had it styled. Go ask Diana. She's gullible." Of course, I shot him. I'd have to do this myself. When they got to the studio, they were taping live. This was my chance! i rushed the stage, shooting anyone in my way. I got in front of the camer and told the nation about the subversion of the young. Of course, they were appalled. There was a senate investigation, much like the McCarthy hearings. School was outlawed, and the teachers were executed. The nation breathed a sigh of relief. All because I fell asleep during Iverson's subversive speech. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: TRASH To: Daedalus Rising Subject: Re: Subversion Date: Sat Nov 30 18:40:13 CST 1996 Message number: 26 Reply to message number: 25 Ah... I make no guarantee's this'll make any sense whatsoever to anyone but myself. I'm sitting at my computer once again and my mind is a little on the low side. I've been thinking alot lately and that generally means I'm gonna get depressed. Right now in my short life I've accomplished alot for others but very little for myself. I've gone through this atrocity called school and graduated. But what have i really learned in my twelve years? Not a hell of a whole lot actually. I've gotta pay 10000 a year to continue my education to hopefully get a half decent job. I'm ready for college and I'm most certainly looking forward to leaving my past self behind but in that same thought there's a lot of gray shit in front of me. What am I gonna do> How am I gonna accomplish it? What will ultimatly make me happy? Who will I end up with the rest of life if anyone at all? Can I really find all these answers in the next four years or so? Do I want to? Damn thats a lot of questions and they're all really starting to rattle me good. What is my purpose hear anyways? How can I live the way I want to live and be happy without making a huge sacrifice? Who am I and why the fuck am I hear? What is purpose or function if there is one at all. It seems I have many friends and few enemies but now I'm the lonliest that I've ever been. Why can I find companionship in another? Am I that flawed? My friends are dear and great, some i've known all my life but why am I shill lonely? I know the answer I just don't know why I can't follow through and search harder. I have learned in my twelve years of schooling that 'nothing' is given to you. You've got to work to gain what you want and I have. I still don't see the fruits of my labor though. Is it all in vain? In reality each and everyone of us is nothing in the comparison of the big picture. If I died a few would mourn but then things would be normal, eventually I'd be forgotten like so many in the past, so who would miss me? I don't know. I also don't know what I can do to change this. I don't know how exactly I can make myself happy, in fact I don't know very much at all so maybe I wouldn't be missed at all. Some of you made it though this whole rambling but most probably blew it off as to be expected. Why I wrote this I give no reason, just senseless rambling (yeah I am sober right now) What you think of this I don't know but maybe you took one thing from it or maybe nothing, and maybe you're dumber for having read it i don't know but thankyou for reading. Plumbers, electricians, and some of the other trades can make pretty good money without a 4 year degree. Even some of the semiskilled labor seems to pay almost as well as some jobs you need degrees for. The attitude I seem to be picking up from the state and many of the people in this state is, "If you don't go to college and get a four year degree you're not worth shit." Many of the people in this state have no business going on to higher education. They have neither the aptitude, desire, or capability to attend a college. I think part of the problem is this state has gotten education on the brain. I mean, You can go to school to learn to drive a forklift. Come on and get real. If you can drive a car or ride a bicycle you can learn to drive a forklift inn about an hour. --- þ OLX 1.53 þ Okay, who put a "stop payment" on my reality check? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: LEMON To: ... That is why school is so fucked up, because it's all supposed to be trade school. -lem ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: LITTLE NIRO To: Lemon Subject: Concert Date: Thu Aug 14 19:16:42 CDT 1997 Message number: 219 Reply to message number: 218 Tell me someone here went to the Aerosmith concert. Although I expect the effect to wear off in a couple years (when I become old) I appreciate being able to go anywhere I damn well please. But I still perfer to swill likky in the comforts of my own home rather than go out. Do you know how much it costs to get drunk at a bar?! I'd say about 20 bucks if not more. For 12 bucks you can get yourself a plastic whino jug of gin or vodka and have your own personal hootenany for a couple days straight! Trash
